From England to Australia
In July 2012, four students and one marine from the North East will embark on a round the world bike tour from England to Australia. Their life-changing journey will cover 25,000km and take them through 25 different countries.
Jamie, Luke, Stephen, Tom and Sam all grew up together in Teesside and decided at the age of 16 that they would one day cycle all the way to Australia. They already have some experience between them, having already cycled to Greece and taken a cycling trip around Europe but this will be their biggest challenge to date.
Not only will this be the trip of a lifetime but they hope to raise an incredible £20,000 for Health Poverty Action and Macmillan Cancer Support. Their journey will take them through several of the countries Health Poverty Action works in including Laos and Cambodia. The group plans to visit our projects to see how our work, supported by the money they have raised, transforms people’s lives.
