Health Poverty Action’s response to today’s announcements on cannabis

A response to today's announcement from the UK government

Responding to today’s announcements that the government will establish an expert panel to advise on the prescription medicinal cannabis and that Labour will review drugs policy to address all issues of public health, Martin Drewry, Director of Health Poverty Action, said:

“These are good steps forward. It’s time for the failed war on drugs to end.  Both major parties should go further and commit to a legal and regulated market for cannabis to protect public health, and take action to end the failed war on drugs both at home and overseas.”
