Are you a Community and Events fundraiser looking to develop and widen your experience?

Are you looking for a new challenge? Are you keen to widen your skill set but not able to try new ideas in your current job? If so, this role could be perfect for an ambitious fundraiser like you.

Health Poverty Action has an exciting portfolio of community fundraising campaigns. We are ready to grow these, as well as develop new initiatives to take our unrestricted fundraising to the next level.

You will be responsible for managing and growing our community fundraising, including our increasingly successful Curry for Change campaign, school initiatives, and festive fundraising (carols, concerts and all things merry!)

You will manage our programme of events including the London Marathon, the Royal Parks Half Marathon, and Ride London. You will also work closely with the team to develop and organise bespoke events and cross-cutting initiatives.

It’s an exciting and varied role, but don’t worry if you don’t hit every part of the JD. We’re ambitious so we’re asking for a lot, but please still apply if you have the right attitude, ambition and ability to grow into the role.
By working with Health Poverty Action you can ensure people worldwide are able to improve their health.

Trustee (campaigning)

Voluntary position

London based meetings

This is an opportunity to contribute to a progressive struggle for change.

With around 400 staff worldwide, we work with some of the poorest communities in Africa, Asia and Latin America to improve health and eradicate poverty.  At the same we campaign to change the unjust policies and practices that cause the problems.

We believe that health is a social, economic and political issue –a cause which requires challenging powerful vested interests, and fundamentally changing economic and political priorities.

We are seeking to welcome to our board a trustee with campaigning instincts and expertise – someone who shares our progressive values, and will particularly champion and support the campaigning aspects of our work (while also sharing with other trustees oversight of the organisation as a whole).

There are around 6 board meetings per year, with potential for some additional involvement outside those if your time permits.

Recognising people from certain backgrounds are under-represented in this sector, we especially welcome applications from Black, Asian and minority ethnic people, people with disabilities, people who identify as LGTBQIA, and people who identify as working class or have done so in the past. (Appointment will then be based on merit alone.)
