Jason

My name is Jason and I’ve been the nurse here in Gam for a few months now. I deal with anything that comes up – labour, snake bites, the common cold. The main challenge is the lack of staff. There’s only two of us, and it’s hard. It puts a lot of pressure on us. I see up to 80 patients a day.
The project is so important. The outreach team are spreading the word and more and more women are coming for check-ups. I’ve already seen a reduction in teenage pregnancies. I’ve even gone along with them to talk to girls in schools, but I couldn’t have done it without the support of Health Poverty Action.
