Health Poverty Action (HPA) has been implementing the Wise Welbodi Women Project (WWW) Project in Northern Bombali since April 2014. The project has focussed on the improvement of maternal and child health (MCH), by improving the quality of and access to MCH services whilst simultaneously increasing demand for these services, raising awareness of key maternal and infant health issues at community level and by building the capacity of local and non-state actors to demand better health services in their communities. Complementing this is a comprehensive sexual and reproductive health (SRH) aspect including family planning (FP), and Sexual and Gender Based Violence (SGBV) aspect addressing women’s empowerment and their ability to seek justice for SGBV cases.

The BLF Wise Welbodi Women (WWW) Project aims to ensure vulnerable women and teenage girls secure the right to improved SRH services in five chiefdoms of Northern Bombali District in Sierra Leone. The Comic Relief Wise Women Welbodi project builds on the BLF Wise Women Welbodi project in the post-Ebola landscape.
