During December, Health Poverty Action has had the pleasure of working with a host of wonderful choirs, who braved the cold weather, donned festive attire and sang for us at various train stations, tube stations, concert halls and even shopping centres.
A total of 119 outstanding choirs kindly gave up their precious time to sing and bring festive cheer to all who heard them! We had a range of voices, from school choirs singing their favourite ‘christmassy songs’, to pop choirs singing more commercial festive tunes, to choral foundations singing traditional carols and even choirs simply singing some of their own personal favourites.
We thoroughly enjoyed meeting our London choirs and getting to know our choirs slightly further afield. The feedback from each station was sensational and not surprisingly everyone loved hearing them sing.
The choirs raised a whopping £19,573.56 in just 17 days. This is an outstanding achievement and has more than tripled what we have raised in previous years- thank you so much!!!
We would also like to take this opportunity to highlight a couple of our choirs who went the extra mile to support Health Poverty Action and so deserve an extra special mention:
- Richard and the incredible London City Voices for choosing to support us for 3 years in a row! This year they not only organised an enormous Christmas concert in London on our behalf, but, also chose to support us through some of their other Christmas engagements.
- Jo and Chrisjingle for giving up 4 evenings to sing for us at Putney, St Pauls, London Bridge and Charing Cross.
- Isabel and Vocal Harmony for organising a Christmas concert in Cardiff on our behalf.
Between the three choirs they raised an astonishing £4,413.55
Combined, our choirs have made a phenomenal impact on our fundraising and so we would like to say a MASSIVE thank you to every single one of our exceptionally talented and generous choirs. Thank you for standing up and raising your voices for health rights worldwide.
The money you have raised will help us to continue prioritising populations missed out by others and maintain the amazing relationships we have with local communities who are improving their people’s health and fighting poverty.
A huge thank you to all the choirs who sang for us in our final week of carolling from 19-23rd December
