Snowdon Sea to Summit: Cycle, Trek, Kayak for Health Poverty Action
23–24 April 2027 or 2–3 July 2027 | North Wales | 2 days
Start at the sea. Finish on a mountain lake with a glass of fizz in your hand. In between, stand on top of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), the highest peak in England and Wales.
The challenge
This is one epic day of adventure across three disciplines. You’ll begin on the shores of the Menai Strait in Caernarfon, cycling about 10 miles past the town’s historic castle and through quiet Welsh countryside into Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park. Then it’s bikes off and boots on for a roughly 9-mile trek up and over Yr Wyddfa via the Snowdon Ranger Path, one of the mountain’s quieter and most scenic routes, before descending to Llanberis. To finish, you’ll paddle a loop of the beautiful Llyn Padarn in a two-person kayak and cross the finish line together.
You don’t need any cycling or kayaking experience. Expert guides will brief you on everything. All you need is a sense of adventure and the determination to train for a long, rewarding day in the mountains.
Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Caernarfon. Meet your fellow challengers at the hotel in the late afternoon for a full trip briefing. Evening free to grab dinner in town (dinner not included).
Day 2: Challenge day. Cycle about 10 miles (1–1.5 hours), trek about 9 miles to the 1,085m summit (4–6 hours), and kayak 2–2.5 miles (1–2 hours). Celebrate at the finish, then transfer back to Caernarfon.
