Cookie policy

What Are Cookies?

Just like most websites, this site uses cookies. Cookies are tiny files that are downloaded to your computer when you visit a website in order to improve your experience. These files perform a number of purposes, from remembering details and preferences for form filling, to monitoring how visitors are using the website to help improve it. This page describes what cookies we use, what information they gather, and how we use and store this information. You can read more about cookies on the ICO website.

Disabling Cookies

It is possible to prevent these cookies from being stored, however this may downgrade or ‘break’ certain elements of any sites you visit. It is recommended that you leave on all cookies if you are not sure whether you need them or not in case they are used to provide a service that you use.

You can prevent the setting of cookies by adjusting the settings on your browser (see your browser Help for how to do this). Be aware that disabling cookies will affect the functionality of this and many other websites that you visit. Therefore it is recommended that you do not disable cookies.

How we use cookies

Cookies can be set by the website you are visiting (first-party cookies) or by other websites and services used by the site (third-party cookies). For more information on Google Analytics cookies, see the official Google Analytics page.
  • Hotjar: an analytics tool used to track and measure usage of this site so that we can continue to produce engaging content. These cookies may track things such as how long you spend on the site or pages you visit which helps us to understand how we can improve the site for you. • iParl: a campaigning tool used to support you to sign a petition or write to your MP. These cookies may track things such as what actions you visit, and the forms you fill in, to help us improve our actions. For more information on iParl, see the official iParl page.
  • Youtube: a tool allowing us to embed You Tube videos in to our site. These cookies may track how many times you view a video, or how long you view a video for. For more information on You Tube, see the official You Tube page.
  • Cloudflare: a tool which optimises the site to make it faster and more secure for the user. These cookies may track your IP address, location and browser type to tailor security settings to the user. For more information on Cloudflare, see the official Cloudflare page.

The information we collect from these cookies is anonymous, and doesn’t personally identify you. However, the information can enable the third parties to identify you. Where our website contains links to other sites belonging to third-parties (e.g. You Tube, Twitter), we do not control the privacy practices of these sites. Please make sure when you leave our site you understand the Privacy Policy and Cookies Policy of the site you are visiting, in addition to ours.
